In its mission to promote the advancement and competitive improvement of the technology sector in Cantabria, the Tera Cluster is focusing a good part of its effort on the health field, which is why we collaborate in the secretariat of the course ‘Value-based digital health: the hour of personalized attention’, organized within the framework of the summer courses of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP).
Promoting the specialization of the region’s ICT fabric in the skills necessary to address health projects is the main objective of the Tera Digital Health Commission. In this sense, its actions include participation in training sessions such as the one at the UIMP, whose purpose is to show the potential offered by technologies such as artificial intelligence to improve patient care. Likewise, the storage and massive use of data is a tool that allows us to accelerate innovation and research in the health sector, an issue that will also be addressed by leading experts.
The course, which will be inaugurated on Monday, August 30, by the Minister of Health of the Government of Cantabria, César Pascual, and the rector of the UIMP, Carlos Andradas, is organized in two days. The first will feature three presentations on the digital health strategy of the National Health System (SNS), PERTE Salud Vanguardia and personalized precision medicine, in addition to two round tables dedicated to the usefulness and usability of clinical information in the system. healthcare and the rights and effective incorporation of patients in their clinical process. In this last table, it is worth highlighting the participation of Carlos Escobar, member of the expert committee of the DTX Consortium, an alliance with which Tera has recently signed a collaboration agreement to advance the regulation of digital therapies and facilitate their access to the product market. sanitary.
The second day, on Tuesday the 30th, is organized around three round tables, starting with a debate on the use of health data in Europe and continuing with another on the threats and opportunities of artificial intelligence in the healthcare field. . The morning will end with a final talk, moderated by the vice president of the Tera Cluster, Roberto García, which will address the benefits and challenges of technologies such as the cloud or cybersecurity in the health sector.
With a program that includes experts from different health subsectors, from medical professionals to managers or workers in the pharmaceutical and technology industry, this course aims to highlight the advantages of incorporating ICT solutions in the health system to increase its effectiveness. and guarantee its sustainability in the future, all of this putting the patient and their rights at the center of decision-making.
